Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BTCMatic, an automation platform operated by SMARTCHIP Ltd ("BTCMatic", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What BTCMatic is — and is not
BTCMatic is execution-only software. It watches data sources you select (the Bitcoin network, exchange market data, schedules) and executes rules that you author: sending notifications, calling your webhooks, or placing orders on your own exchange account under API keys you provide.
- No financial advice. Nothing in the service — including rule templates, backtests, documentation or notifications — is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Every rule, its parameters and its consequences are your decision alone.
- No custody. We never hold, receive or transmit your funds or digital assets. Exchange API keys are accepted only with trade permission; keys with withdrawal scope are rejected at setup. We cannot withdraw your funds, and we do not manage a portfolio for you.
- No brokerage or exchange services. Orders are placed on your exchange account, in your name, under your exchange's own terms.
2. Your account and responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- your exchange accounts, their standing, their API keys and their security settings — including creating trade-only keys and restricting them to our published egress IP (see the Security page);
- the rules you create and enable, including their triggers, thresholds, order sizes, cooldowns and the consequences of their execution — in live mode, rules spend real funds without further confirmation;
- keeping your email account (used for sign-in links) secure;
- the endpoints you register for webhooks and the systems that consume them, and your compliance with the laws and tax obligations that apply to you.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to use cryptocurrency exchange services in your jurisdiction.
3. Subscriptions and billing
BTCMatic is offered as a flat monthly subscription (Free, Pro, Power). We never charge fees based on your trading volume, order count or assets. Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout; taxes may apply depending on your location. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. On downgrade, rules exceeding your new plan limits are automatically disabled (oldest first) and you are notified.
4. Acceptable use
- No use of the service for unlawful activity, market manipulation or sanctions evasion.
- No attempts to overload, reverse-engineer or circumvent the service, its plan limits or its security controls.
- Webhook targets must be systems you own or are authorised to call; we apply technical safeguards and may block abusive endpoints.
5. Availability, beta status and changes
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", currently in beta. We do not guarantee that any rule will trigger, evaluate or execute at any particular time or at all — upstream data sources, exchanges and networks fail, and by design the system prefers not acting over acting on stale or fabricated data. Backtest results are simulations over historical data and do not predict future results. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
6. Termination
You may close your account at any time. Either party may terminate with 14 days' notice. We may suspend or terminate immediately for breach of these Terms, abuse, non-payment or legal necessity. On termination we disable your rules, delete your stored exchange API keys, and delete or anonymise your personal data per our Privacy Policy.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: we are not liable for trading losses, loss of profit, loss of data, or indirect and consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including losses caused by rules you configured, exchange or upstream outages, market conditions, or missed / delayed / duplicate executions. Our total aggregate liability for all claims is capped at the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for intent or gross negligence).
8. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. If a provision is found invalid, the rest remains in effect. We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 14 days before taking effect — continued use after that constitutes acceptance. Contact: legal@btcmatic.com.
